We've changed

You meditate.
I have tattoos.
We've changed.

You travel the world.
I write poetry.
We've changed.

You mail letters.
I don't answer.
We've changed.

You learned English.
I go out alone.
We've changed.

Unscathed,
the memory of the last time
our hands touched -

this stays the same.

  1. Whew. Nicely contrasted. And the lingering blessing that was. BTW I used the word Tattoo in a poem. He he.

  5. So much does change.. and too much remains the same. You have such a way of tapping into common human experience and presenting it in an uncommon way.

  6. Care to reflect a little! Yes, it certainly makes it imperative to care for consequences of change than just assuming one is not affected. Nicely Kenia!

A nice pert summary of how much people can change knowing that the past can't.
